Apparently the Army doesn’t allow crutches Soldier
Crutch: I need a sip of water during this metcon.
Crutch: I sucked in the last round because I didn’t eat enough.
Crutch: Gotta chalk up…..again.
Crutch: My grips feel funny let me adjust them….again.
Crutch: I didn’t PR because I had a bad day at work.
Crutch: I know I’m going to suck at this metcon, there are cleans in it.
Water: I am NOT telling you to not drink water. However, unless the metcon is longer than 25 minutes you don’t need it. Push.
Chalk: If you’re trying to keep your sweaty hands on the bar and not fall to your death, I get it. But, how often do you really need it?? Do you need a few breaths or do you really need chalk?
Clips and Collars: They’re fine…leave them alone.
Music: Seriously? Learn to block out distractions and work!
Crutches, we all have them, we all use them. We even use true injuries as “crutches” when we know there are ways to scale and keep you working. As we go into the New Year, we need to remember that we are rarely 100%. There will always be something holding us back, whether that be physical or mental. It’s how you meet the challenges everyday and how you kick the challenges in the face and keep moving!
What’s your something better?
