You won’t get up on the rings if you don’t practice

It might be hard to believe, or maybe it’s not. It’s a very simple premise. Take time. . . .just a little bit. . . . to work on something on which you need to improve. Yes, a big shocker. Studies have shown that the move you work on improving at a certain task, the better you become (I don’t have any idea which study, or if one exist, but I am pretty sure some smart people have made this conclusion). People tend to work on things they are good at, and shy away from the things that they don’t like, or can’t do as well. This is called having a bias. Biases come in many forms, but the more common amongst athletes is to do the things they are good at, while avoiding the things that require practice. Runners may avoid the deadlift because they don’t know how to do it, but more likely than not they avoid it because they have a weak posterior chain. Weightlifters don’t run because they look like an angry elephant (even though elephants are actually pretty fast).

The point is. . . .take the next 30 days to focus on areas that need improvement. Develop a plan of action, and attack your weaknesses. If you don’t know what to do. . . .well ask a coach for a plan. We promise, the more you practice the better you will get.
