Are you coming from another CrossFit Affiliate? Have you been in a consistent strength and conditioning program for more than three years? If so, you can test out of out mandatory fundamental and baseline conditioning program. Our test out option consists of a self scheduled one-on-one session with one of our coaches. In the training session, you will display your competency in the basic barbell movements, the olympic lifts, other foundational movements we use at Prelude, as well as a conditioning assessment. We are not testing to determine that you are an “expert,” the sole goal is to assess whether or not you are prepared to enter our group training program safely. Memberships
Our membership plans are geared toward getting you safe results in a minimal amount of time, whether you are newly active or have years of fitness experience. We have memberships available for 3, 4 and 6 days a week, depending on your current level of fitness, as well as your individualized goals. During your introductory session, one of our experienced coaches will evaluate you and help you decide which program is right for you, whether that be our group classes, or our structured highly effective personal training program.

Class Schedule

Monday through Friday at 6:00 am, 7:00 am, 12:00 pm, 4:45 pm, 5:45 pm, and 7:00 pm; and
Saturdays at 9:00 am and 10:00 am; and Open Gym at 11:00 am.
We will open additional class times based upon member demand. Personal Training sessions are scheduled by appointment only.

No Groupons: From day one, we decided that we will never discount or offer Groupons for our memberships. That may sound strange to you, but we believe that you get what you pay for. You are paying for instruction, coaching and semi-personal training. Our membership rates allow us to staff the gym with the best instructors, ensure we have top-of-the-line equipment, and a facility for you to achieve your fitness goals. Simply put, discounting our services would only mean that we can’t offer you what you need, and do not stand behind the product we endorse. When you’re selecting a facility, take discounts as a further indication that they are not able to provide you with a coherent, comprehensive plan to help you achieve your goals.

Dropping In?
We allow experienced CrossFitters from other CrossFit Affiliates to drop in. If you would like to drop in, YOU MUST email us in advance so that we can ensure we have the space to accommodate you. If you do not email us in advance, we can not guarantee we will be able to accommodate you. Additionally, you must have at least 6 months of consistent CrossFit experience to drop in. Small Group Tracks
Our small group instruction is designed to address the individual needs of our varied community. The customized functional fitness program of instruction, along with the results obtained, cannot be matched. Our small group training structure allows you to work with coaches at a fraction of the cost of personal training. At Prelude, you are assigned a coach to monitor your progress, assist you with a roadmap to goal achievement, and serve as an accountability buddy for your “Something.” This model is unique in Richmond, and also one of the fundamental reasons our members see results faster and safer.
Our functional fitness tracks are systematically designed to improve your health and performance in a way that is most meaningful to your needs, wants, and desires. You are not a number at Prelude. Our classes are capped at 8 members, so you remain a part of a tightknit, supportive community. When you enter our doors, we know you have your own personal goals and abilities, which is why we designed our program with the flexibility to meet your needs.
