Hometown: Dhaka, Bangladesh
Age: 33
Occupation: Software Engineer
When did you first start CrossFitting:
September 2014
When did you first start training at CrossFit Prelude:
September 2014
Favorite WOD/Movement:
Dare I say burpees!!!!!
Least Favorite WOD/Movement:
Don’t really gleefully look forward to thrusters these days.
Tell us about you sports; fitness; and/or life background:
Until I added strength training here with Crossfit, I have been mostly playing tennis and running as means to stay active.
What is your “Something Better” that you hope to achieve with CrossFit Prelude:
Getting fitter for sure. I also wish to use my time here as a springboard to excel in any other physical activity I do, namely running and tennis for now.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel:
Got exposed right here at CrossFit Prelude. I think the first WOD was ab-mat sit-ups, burpees and wall walks. It was a humbling recognition of how much work there was ahead of me. The delayed onset muscle soreness a day or two later wasn’t fun. What a long ways it’s been.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CrossFit (before/after):
Noticing some definition around my shoulders and my arms have gotten a little bigger. The day I felt one of my old t-shirts a little tight around the arms and shoulder was a revelation. I don’t dwell much on appearance and I think of it largely as a consequence of working towards fitness. It’s the gained abilities that I prize the most. My tennis has improved significantly with faster movements.
What keeps you coming back. What motivates and inspires you:
Hopped on this cycle of harder, better, faster, stronger and just trying my best to stay on this loop.
Please share with us any favorite CrossFit Prelude moments:
Any time I set a new personal record
Any advice for people just getting started:
Approach it as a lifestyle choice and not a chore to be done every other day of the week.
